Glennette: Annual Report

A couple of years ago, I happened upon the web site ChangeThis. The site is full of manifestos written by well-known and not so well-know people, but, the topics are always interesting. Visitors to the site get to vote on whether or not the person should write the manifesto if there is interest in the topic and the author’s approach.

I have read many interesting and inspiring manifestos but, this one by Tom Peters, This I Believe!, I felt was most appropriate for the first day of a new year.

#43. Take charge of your destiny. (No option.) It is a Brand New [Year], Brand You World. (Distinct or…Extinct.)

Here is my Personal Brand Equity Evaluation

  1. I am known for web design and development and making connections; next year at this time I will be known for creating a method for calculating social media ROI.
  2. My current project is challenging me in the following way
    a. I am researching and learning more about social media, metrics, and measurement
    b. I am using some of what I learned while earning an MBA
  3. New things Iʼve learned in the last 90 days include
    a. How to manage people and myself
    b. How to speak up for myself
  4. My public “recognition program” consists of buying myself a new outfit with shoes and purse to match.
  5. Important additions to my Rolodex in the last 90 days include Alan Rosenblatt and Shireen Mitchell.
  6. My resume is…discernibly different…from last yearʼs at this time in that I am working for an organization that is socially conscious where I feel that I can build and expand my career in web strategy.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year.
